Summary
Join a well-established and highly respected New Zealand business as they launch a new manufacturing joint venture. This 3-month contract offers a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Accountant to take ownership of the finance function during the critical onboarding phase of the new entity.

The role
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end financial accounting and supporting the successful setup and integration of the new business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of accounting from trial balance, including month-end processes, journals and reconciliations
- Supporting onboarding of the joint venture, ensuring systems, processes, and reporting are set up correctly
- Providing insight and analysis around manufacturing costings, including BOMs and standard costing
- Collaborating with operations and finance teams to ensure data integrity across ERP and Excel models
- Assisting with ERP setup and financial controls – exposure to SAP or similar preferred
- Solid accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- A sound understanding of standard costing, BOMs, inventory and cost of goods sold
- Strong Excel capability – lookups, pivots, modelling and reconciliation skills
- Experience working in ERP systems – SAP desirable but not essential
- The ability to hit the ground running, manage ambiguity, and work well in a fast-paced, project environment
