About the Team

Our Emergency Department (ED) at Hutt Hospital is a Level 4 emergency care service, seeing around 80,000 patients each year. We care for a wide range of presentations, from the 'walking wounded' to critical emergencies like cardiac arrests and major trauma. The ED is particularly busy during the winter months, requiring a responsive, resilient, and compassionate team.

At the heart of our mahi is patient-focused care, and our Front of Whare team plays a crucial role in ensuring every person who walks through our doors feels supported, safe, and respected.

We are a vibrant and close-knit, supportive team who consider our staff as whānau. We work together with aroha, professionalism and a commitment to excellence, delivering seamless and responsive administration services for all visits, admissions, transfers, and discharges from the Emergency Department.

We value manaakitanga, integrity and teamwork, and we - re looking for someone who shares those values - someone who will bring a calm, welcoming presence and a genuine desire to make a difference.

About you

This position requires excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and organised under pressure. Flexibility and a commitment to teamwork are essential, as is a genuine desire to support people in a healthcare setting.

You - ll thrive in this role if you're someone who:

  • Is a team player who shows manaakitanga in their work, and actively contributes to a positive, supportive team culture

Experience in healthcare or a similarly fast-paced environment is an advantage - but more important is your willingness to learn, your commitment to people, and your ability to approach each day with positivity, professionalism, and heart.

If you - re looking for a role where your mahi truly makes a difference - and where you're valued as part of a tight-knit team - we - d love to hear from you.
