Coronial Administration Support Officer
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
As a Coronial Services Administration Support Officer, you will be based in Dunedin and will work alongside Case managers and Coroners. You will be responsible for the administrative tasks of the office in the Dunedin Court. On occasion, there may be times when you are called upon to assist on other matters or other Coroners outside your region. This vacancy is for a 12 month fixed term pat time position of 32 hours per week.
These key responsibilities will include:
- efficient and effective administrative services
- confidential and professional secretarial and word processing support
- ensuring our electronic database (CMS) accurate
- liaising and providing information to key stakeholders
- support Coroners and Coroners Court personnel at meetings and events.
You will have strong interpersonal skills that will support your work with the Coroners, but also be capable of dealing with distraught family members in sensitive circumstances. An ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds is essential and you will be expected to provide excellent and highly organised case management support to our Coroners and Case managers. You will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will:
- be able to handle accessing and viewing graphic coronial material
- showcase relationship Management and communication skills, both internally and externally as you will be dealing with incredibly delicate information
- have an understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Maori
- be highly organised, able to prioritise and multitask in an autonomous manner
- exercise your strong understanding of the MS Office Suite.

Our Southern Coroners Court team is spread across the Southern Region, mostly based in Christchurch and Dunedin. You will be working within a medium sized Coroners supportive team in Dunedin, supporting the Coroners and Case managers. This position comes with a varied workload. Utu ā-tau/Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $55,343 to $74,416 the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
