About the role

We are bringing our Women's and Children's administration together and we are looking for someone to lead this team as we transition into the new Dunedin Hospital Outpatients Building.

The function of this role is to manage a group of employees who perform administrative duties. The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day coordinated direction, assignment and organisation of clinical bookings for Women's and Children's Health Services.

The Team Leader will be a point of contact for management and associated teams to provide optimal service.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning
  • Implementing
  • Staffing
  • Providing technical support
  • Training to administration team members

You will:

  • lead initiatives that embrace innovation and swiftly adjust to strategies and operations in response to evolving healthcare
  • develop and support initiatives to address barriers to achieve equity, reducing variation, and supporting partnership across the health sector is an important part of this role.

About you

Experience:

  • At least two years administration experience
  • Previous experience leading and managing a team
  • Experience with data management and information systems
  • Familiarity with administrative procedures and tools (Office 360 etc.)

Knowledge and skills:

  • High standard of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and interpersonal skills - negotiating, influencing and facilitating sensitive issues when necessary
  • Demonstrate success in leading and delivering on improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus
  • Ability to foster a culture that promotes continuous learning and improvement
