0.88 FTE permanent position (7 hours per day, Monday-Friday)

About the Role

We are looking for a part-time Administrator to join our Alcohol and Other Drug Team. This role is often the first face to face contact someone has with our AOD service, as such we’re looking for the right person to meet and greet people experiencing addiction issues along with their whānau. A genuine caring and warm personality is a must, along with patience, calm demeanour and resilience to engage with people where they’re at.


Based at our AOD service reception desk this role provides booking and clerking functions, administrates electronic referrals, provides medical typing, minute taking as well as purchasing and ordering stores for the team among other things.

About you

Suitable candidates will have:

·         Excellent customer services skills, communication skills under pressure and flexibility to manage difficult situations calmly and professionally

·         Excellent medical typing skills and ability to quickly and accurately turn around clinical letters and meeting minutes to meet time constraints

·         Proficient IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)

·         Experience learning and navigating IT based systems, with preferred experience in a health care setting

·         Significant general office-based skills and experience

·         Sound knowledge of Equity principles, a commitment to bi-culturalism and demonstrable application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
