Are you an administrative champion who also thrives on secretariat support?
As Administrator, you will be the go-to guru in your Unit, supporting managers and teams to lodge and track purchasing, payroll and other requests handled in a shared services model.
You will work closely with the Chair of DOC's Animal Ethics Committee to coordinate the committee's activities, including handling correspondence with applicants, organising meetings, and ensuring that documentation meets statutory requirements.
This is a fun and varied role, which will give you great insight into the world of science in the Government sector. You will make strong connections right across the organization, with plenty of opportunity for growth and professional development.

This role calls for someone with proven experience supporting administration across a diverse portfolio. You will be proactive, collaborative, and thrive on the variety that this role offers. We encourage interest from internal candidates seeking a secondment opportunity.
If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:
- Skilled in administrative systems in government, including purchasing
- Skilled in secretariat services to a governance or scientific committee
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products especially Microsoft Teams
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks efficiently across a range of stakeholders and topics
Desirable experience:
- Managing online committee meetings with participants joining at different times
- Responding to and tracking correspondence in a shared inbox

The salary range for this position is $60,314 to $75,603 per annum with the starting salary of the successful applicant based on their relevant skills and experience.
Internal candidates are encouraged to discuss secondment opportunities with your manager. Secondments should offer the opportunity to build capability in line with your development plan. You must seek the support of your line manager (minimum Tier 4) in writing before applying for a secondment opportunity and attach it to your application.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
