Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.79 FTE)

About the Role 

The Cardiology Service Administrator is part of the Sub Speciality team and provides scheduling and workflow support to the service.

You will be a point of contact for Cardiology Senior Medical Officer's (SMO), the administration team, and other clinicians regarding roster changes and leave management. This role manages the interface between booking clerks and clinical staff, to ensure scheduling systems and processes run smoothly, and information is available when needed.

This role works 31.6 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The full salary range is $75,201 - $83,092 (pro-rated).

About the Service

The Cardiology Service provides secondary and tertiary care for patients with cardiac health problems.

The Cardiology department includes outpatient clinics at across the Wellington Region as well as Whanganui hospital. A rehabilitation service and a range of diagnostic monitoring services are at Wellington as well as a Cardiac Care Unit for acute cardiac assessment and management. Day cases are managed in the Interventional Recovery Ward, adjacent to the cardiac catheter suite.

You will be joining a busy and dynamic service made up of both clinical and non-clinical staff. We facilitate a collaborative workplace culture, and are committed to your ongoing professional development.

About you 

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer service and experience in developing administrative procedures. You will be highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise your workload, juggling multiple tasks - sometimes under pressure. Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office products is essential

Other skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Experience in assisting staff to work in an optimal way 
  • Experience working with senior medical staff
  • Ability to build relationships quickly with staff and management
  • Follows processes but able to demonstrate initiative - discerning when a situation may require a slightly different process
  • Works to a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
