About the Role

We have an exciting position available for an administrator to join our Mental Health and Addictions Service.

You will enjoy working with a variety of people and situations and must be committed to providing excellent levels of service to attain our goal: To support Mental Health and Addictions Service to continue to earn the reputation as a service people trust with their loved ones’ care.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accurate and effective management of services both administration and clinical systems and processes
  • Maintains positive and effective relationships with taangata whaiora/whaanau/colleagues and stakeholders of our service
  • Provides high level of administration support across our service including co-ordinating, organising and collaborating

About the Team/Service

We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waikato. We provide specialist services for tāngata whaiora who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties.


About you

  • A minimum of two years administration experience. 
  • Computing / information management (essential) or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, acquired through training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability with written and oral communication, and relating effectively with people.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
  • Adaptable with a willingness to embrace multitasking. Excellent communication skills are required and confidentiality is essential.
  • It would be advantageous that you have had previous experience working within a health/mental health setting.
