We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinician Physiotherapist to join our Health of Older People – ED Geriatric Services (EDGS) team at Middlemore Hospital.
The EDGS is a dedicated service focused on fast-tracking and supporting the flow of geriatric patients from the Emergency Department. The team includes a Geriatrician, registrar, clinical nurse specialists, and a physiotherapist working collaboratively to ensure timely and effective care.
In this role, you will:
• Assess and manage a clinically and culturally diverse group of older adults presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Work closely with clinical nurse specialists to assess patients’ mobility and functional strength.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop patient-centered care plans.
• Occasionally support inpatient Health of Older People rehabilitation teams.
• Have the opportunity to contribute to service development, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives.
You will be professionally supported by the interdisciplinary team, Operational Manager, and Professional Lead – Physiotherapy. We are committed to your ongoing professional development through supervision, mentorship, and a mix of formal and informal training opportunities.

Essential:
• Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board, with a current APC
• Minimum six years clinical experience
• Previous experience working with geriatric population
• Full, drivers licence
Preferred:
• Post graduate qualification
• Previous experience working in ED
