About the Role
The Advisor Business Case Development is a junior role and is a great opportunity to contribute to improving health services for New Zealand. This role supports the planning and preparation of infrastructure-related business cases across Health New Zealand, and contributes to the development of medium and high-risk business cases, and assists regional teams with lower-risk proposals. It involves working with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and ensure the development of robust, evidence-based business cases. The Advisor also contributes to building business case capability across the organisation by supporting the improvement of processes, templates, tools, and guidance, and assisting with assurance reviews. This position sits within the Business Case Development team in the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG), which leads and supports business case development and drives continuous improvement in business case practice.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The mission of the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) is to provide the safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment that are essential for a well-functioning health system. The IIG leads investment by understanding and managing these well, ensuring health facilities, sites, and equipment with the highest need of investment are prioritised and standardising the way these are maintained, refurbished or redeveloped.
About you
You will be early in your career, with a strong interest in writing, and in particular about the health sector. You'll bring a willingness to learn, get involved wherever needed, and grow your skills in a supportive and collaborative team environment. Additionaly, the following skills and experiences will help you to succeed in this position:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data and insights to make informed decisions and recommendations with a clear understanding of wider impacts.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand messages for different audiences.
- Experience developing business cases in a complex, multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to ask the right questions to understand audience needs.
