About the Role

The Advisor, Government & Ministerial role sits within a team which oversees the development and management of all Board, Committee and Ministerial and briefings including Official Information Act requests (OIAs) and Parliamentary Questions (PQs) across a region. The team also works closely across national and other regional teams to ensure consistent systems and practices across the business.

The team's overall objective is to provide high quality and timely advice for the governance and ministerial servicing function of commissioning. Advisors have developing subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills.

About you

You have previous experience working in government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of government. You will have worked in a Government services role, administering and responding to Official Information Act requests, parliamentary questions and ministerial correspondence. Ideally you will have some experience working in a governance or secretariat role.

You have experience presenting information in various formats, tailoring content to suit different audiences to support decision-making processes. You can communicate key messages in an accurate, accessible and meaningful way.

You are organised and your relationship management skills allow you to work confidently and collaboratively with other teams within Health New Zealand to provide quality, accurate and timely responses. You also have a focus on business improvement and commitment to developing existing systems and processes.
