Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic Advisor to join our Head of the Finance Profession team. This is a two-year fixed term role.
This small, dynamic team supports government agencies to strengthen their financial management capability, focusing on improving outcomes within and across agencies.
In this role, you'll:
- Support the delivery of programmes and initiatives to improve financial management capability in the public sector.
- Help design and carry out reviews of agencies' financial capability, contributing to the development of action-oriented improvement plans.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training and development programmes for public service leaders and financial professionals.
- Provide support and advice that helps agencies implement plans to strengthen their financial performance.

We're looking for someone passionate about making a positive impact on how the public sector manages its financial resources. You'll bring a proactive and collaborative attitude to the role, along with the following skills and attributes:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., accounting, finance, public policy) or equivalent experience.
- An understanding of, or interest in, the public financial management system and government processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and succinctly.
- A willingness to build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- An eagerness to contribute to delivering results as part of a collaborative team.
This role offers plenty of scope for growing your knowledge and expertise while contributing to some of the biggest challenges in public sector financial management.
