About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

We’re looking for an Advisor to join the School Transport team within Te Pae Aronui. This role focuses on supporting operational policy, performance, and consistency across school transport services. You’ll contribute to ministerial briefings, support business improvement initiatives, and help translate policy into practice.

You’ll work within the Performance Team and across the wider School Transport group to ensure quality service delivery and continuous improvement.

Salary range: $74,015 - $89,547 per annum + 3% kiwi saver.  The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

You will have:

• Experience in a complex organisation, ideally in the public sector
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decisions
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork
• Experience preparing ministerial briefings and working with stakeholders

You will also offer:

• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with government processes and service delivery
• A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
• The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

The School Transport team sits within Te Pae Aronui – Operations and Integration. We ensure that school transport services are safe, efficient, and equitable. Our work supports learners and whānau across the country by enabling access to education.
