All Trades Assistant, Nelson Hospital, Permanent Full-time

  • This role is a dynamic role which is varying and interesting with no two days the same . The varied tasks will give satisfaction to maintaining the Hospital to keep the Hospital running  smoothly . There is satisfaction of being part of a larger team delivering Health Care.

About the Role

As an All Trades Assistant, you will assist with maintenance problems, carry out labouring assistance in the engineering, electrical and plumbing areas, be happy to work hard and sometimes get dirty, and feel confident to assist with operating machinery.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday to Friday, including some weekend work.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Facilities team consists of  supportive management  across the District and extensive Knowledge and support of fellow trades people based in Wairau or Nelson.

About you

As an All Trades Assistant, you will:

  • Be dependable, adaptable, reliable, honest and proactive,
  • Pay good attention to detail
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to work unsupervised and on some weekends,
  • Hold a current full drivers licence.

Experience working in a hospital related environment would be an advantage, although this is not essential.
