About the Role
Are you an excellent communicator with good time management and technical learning skills? Do you enjoy working as part of a team? Do you have experience working with children?
We are looking for someone with these skills to join our team as an Allied Health Assistant based in the Audiology department at Waikato Hospital. You will work under the supervision of experienced and supportive audiologists, and alongside hearing screeners, administration staff, health professionals and other assistants working in the allied health professions. You will be working with tāmariki (children) to undertake tasks that assist and support the audiologists with their work including:
- basic hearing aid maintenance and repairs
- performing routine hearing screening under the direction of audiologists
- administration tasks such as responding to routine enquiries, ordering resources, management of inward and outward goods.
Training will be provided as part of the role, including an opportunity to complete the New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance.

About you
To apply you will need:

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- High levels of computer literacy and technical learning skills
- Current valid driver's licence
Ideally you will also have:
- New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance or equivalent
- Experience working with people with hearing loss or undertaking hearing screening
- Experience working with children
