About the Role

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will join our SLT and Dietitian teams supporting our services to provide high quality care to patients within the Nelson/Tasman region.  Your role will be to assist with daily department functions, assist the therapists in delivering patient care activities, maintain department supplies and other tasks as directed. You will work under the supervision of registered health professionals.

 This is a permanent, part-time role working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE), Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 5.00pm.

About you

 You will be a practical, well organised and physically fit person with life experience and excellent written and oral communication skills. You - ll have a friendly and welcoming manner with the ability to relate to a broad range of people of all ages. It will also be important that you can work under direction, be a cooperative team player who is supportive of your colleagues, and work in flexible, positive manner displaying an appropriate level of initiative.

 Applicants will require acurrent full driver - s license and must have: 

  • Year 11-NCEA Level 1 English (or equivalent)
  • Year 11-NCEA Level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
  • NZQA Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)*

 *NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand.

(If not previously obtained; to be completed within 2 years of commencement or to be commenced within 1 year of employment. Nelson Marlborough Health supports you with this process.)

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
