- enabling those with accountabilities across the system to perform their roles effectively.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
In this role we're looking for an enthusiastic and talented professional to join us and play a key role in developing investment reporting across the investment management system and integrating analytics from that reporting into impactful Ministerial advice. This role will also support presentations to Investment Management System Leaders, agencies and internal audiences.
You'll build dashboards and reports that will help stakeholders make data-informed decisions, and use those dashboards to assess the performance of public sector agencies.
The position is for a full-time permanent staff member based in Wellington.

You will have data and reporting experience, preferably in the New Zealand public sector. The IMS team's work is dynamic and can be fast paced at times, you will need to be flexible and be able to work under pressure to deliver quality advice and analysis. The specific experience, skills, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:
- an attitude of curiosity, enthusiasm and diligence
- value being in a collaborative team
- experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau) is essential
- a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, Sharepoint, Forms and Power Automate is essential
- experience with coding languages such as DAX, M, SQL, Python, or VBA is beneficial
- strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence
- ability to build and maintain relationships and networks with diverse range of stakeholders
- some experience in developing economic, commercial, financial or regulatory policy advice, including the ability to apply standard policy frameworks, is beneficial
- personal integrity, sound judgement and an honest and ethical approach
- understanding of financial analysis e.g. understanding a balance sheet.
