As Application Specialist, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and improving the software systems that support the operations of Archives New Zealand Te Rua Mahara and the National Library Te Puna Mātauranga.
You'll take responsibility for application support, system configuration, incident management, and performance oversight across several essential platforms. This includes working directly with business users, the internal DIA Digital Services and Solutions team, and external support vendors to ensure systems are functioning optimally and continuously improving.
What we're looking for
You'll bring a strong service mindset and a solid technical background, with:
- Experience in software support, systems administration or service delivery roles
- Proven ability to manage incidents, respond to support requests and handle user provisioning
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external vendors
- Experience with backend data-service platforms and delivery, and use of query DSL
- Familiarity with the Azure Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and C++ / R (or other development languages) is a bonus
- Knowledge of UX design principles and accessibility standards in a public service context
- Confidence conducting user acceptance testing and writing support documentation
- Excellent collaboration, communication, problem-solving and planning skills
You'll also demonstrate an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to reflecting tikanga and mātauranga Māori in the way services are delivered.
