Supply Chain Group (SCG) is a sub-Unit within the Defence Logistics Command group. It is responsible for controlling and supplying equipment and materials primarily to the Royal New Zealand Navy. The Group provides a range of supply chain services, including transportation and freight forwarding, material preservation and packaging, warehousing, procurement, inventory management, and material data control.
This key role is responsible for the management of armament stores and inventory held at Kauri Point Armament Depot, providing the necessary security and management in support of NZDF outputs and third-party armament repair activities.
Due to the nature of this role, there is no option to work remotely.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need minimum of 2 years' experience in inventory management and supply chain compliance. An understanding of Health and Safety compliance would be advantageous.
Ideally you will also have 2 years minimum in a supervisory role as you will be responsible for the management and delegation of tasks as well as onsite training.
With regards to IT skills, working knowledge and understanding of SAP or a very similar inventory management system is a requirement, as well as the usual MS products.
You need to have a clean Class 1 Full Driver's Licence, it would also be advantageous to have fork life endorsement and Class 2 classification.

Higher Level Security Clearance
- You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
- At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
- You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
