Associate Advisor: Kaitohutohu Tuarua

Are you wanting the opportunity to work across business units to deliver quality work? We are looking for an Associate Advisor Kaitohutohu Tuarua, to join our busy Operational Investment & Contracts team
This team works closely with other key areas to be a centre of expertise regarding the performance of on-Plan Tertiary Education Organisations (TEO). The team carries out funding assessments, coordinates, supports the funding decision processes and also writes investment related official correspondence and briefings.
The team provides a year-round view of TEO performance, both through the assessment process as part of an annual investment round, but also through ongoing performance monitoring and analysis.
This is a permanent role with TEC and is a strictly Wellington-based.

The role will work across the TEC's customer facing and internal teams, making this a critical support role in providing key business information. This is a permanent advisory role in which you will learn and develop public sector advisory skills that will provide you the foundation and experience for great future career opportunities.
- Developing written investment related content for relationship teams to engage with TEOs regarding funding and performance.
- Work across internal teams to get the information needed to produce quality content to make funding recommendations.
- Drafting of communications to TEO including funding letters
- The use of high-quality business information to inform the assessment process
- Support of functions in relation to annual investment round, funding assessments, decision panels, communications to TEO including funding wash-up processes.
- Drafting documents e.g. official correspondence documents and briefing documents.

This role is ideal for an entry-level candidate or recent graduate looking to gain valuable exposure to the machinery of government. It offers the opportunity to learn how policy and operational processes work in practice while collaborating with a supportive, highly engaged team.
- Excellent computer skills, including the ability to present information for consumption
- Strong writing skills
- Experience in setting up simple processes to manage work activities

The salary range for this position starts from $63,492 up to $74,697 + 3% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
