About the Role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic registered nurse (24 hours per week, 0.6 FTE) to join the leadership team as Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) in Ward 7 North (General Surgery, Vascular, ENT and Ophthalmology). We are looking for someone who has proven ability to provide leadership at a ward level including demonstrated ability to coordinate shifts and mentor less experienced nurses to ensure high standards of clinical care. 

About the Team/Service Location 

As Associate Charge Nurse Manager, you will provide support to the Charge Nurse Manager by extending the presence of clinical leadership and be responsible for delivering safe outcomes for all nursing services within 7 North across morning, evening and weekend shifts. You will need to support the Charge Nurse Manager in leading this large multi-speciality ward and multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) to achieve excellence in patient care and safety. It is important to have an organisational focus and understanding, alongside service and speciality knowledge and expert nursing knowledge. It is vital that you can work well in a team as we value your contribution towards innovation, taking responsibility for you own professional development and working as part of a team with all that this encompasses. You will have at least three years of experience as a surgical nurse preferably with general surgical or vascular background. We will however also consider RNs with other acute hospital experience looking to broaden their nursing career.

About you 

A minimum of 3 years nursing experience as a surgical nurse preferably with general surgical or vascular background. 

  • Working at Expert or working towards Expert PDRP 
  • A desire for clinical excellence 
  • Working towards or completion of post graduate studies.
