Location:    Wellington Regional Hospital

Contract:     One year Fixed-Term and Permanent Part Time positions 0.6 FTE minimum (Rostered & Rotating)

Salary:        NZNO MECA Grade 2, Step 1 - $116,040 Pro rata for part time

About the Role 

The Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) will provide clinical leadership within the ICU.  The ACNM shares responsibility for team and professional development and ensures a higher level of safe and competent practice.  The ACNM is a broad management support role extending the presence of clinical leadership across 24hrs. 

About the Team/Service/ Location 

Wellington Regional Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for the lower North Island and upper South Island of New Zealand. This gives the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) a catchment population of approximately 1,100,000 and a geographic radius of 300km. The ICU has responsibility for delivery of care outside of ICU through our Patient at Risk Service, Trauma Team and Flight Service.

About you

The ACNM is responsible for the daily coordination of unit activity and developing a highly focussed nursing team.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have critical care nursing experience
  • Must hold or be working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification in critical care
  • 3-5 years intensive care nursing experience
  • Interest in leadership and coordination
  • Significant progress on the PDRP
