About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre as an Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM). The Blood and Cancer Centre is increasingly recognised as a centre of excellence in the provision of specialist care to people with cancer, haematological disorders and those receiving radiation therapy.
The primary focus for this position is to coordinate patient care alongside the team of staff throughout the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre (WBCC). This role encompasses the specialties of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology and the management of nursing staff and patients in the Day Ward, Radiation Therapy, Community Cancer Nurse Team and two outreach sites; Kenepuru and Wairarapa. All alongside a great senior nursing team.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic nurse, wishing to join the experienced and professional management team of WBCC. As an ACNM you will be responsible for the day to day management of the several hubs of WBCC. You will coordinate staff and high volume patient flow within the hubs. You will provide leadership and support to staff to assist them in the provision of safe care to patients, and you will support clinicians in the booking and coordination of complex patients.
You will communicate with the MDT and the many teams outside of WBCC who provide care to ambulatory patients within the region. You will develop rosters and manage annual leave effectively along with allocating staff to provide for balanced skill mix. You will contribute towards quality targets by reviewing and actioning reportable events and identifying quality improvement initiatives along with the providing the change management required to implement them. The salary range for this role is NZNO MECA Senior Nurse Grade 2, step 1-3 depending on experience - pro rata.

About you
You will have:
-5 years post graduate nursing experience.
-New Zealand Nurse - s Registration and current practicing certificate.
-Post graduate qualification or evidence of working towards this.
-Has a strong background and experience in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and/or Haematology nursing.
