Auditor – Palmerston North

Audit New Zealand Mana Arotake Aotearoa carries out annual audits of public entities on behalf of the Auditor-General. We're looking for people with external audit experience who are committed to delivering the highest-quality audit services to a range of clients.

As an Auditor, we're looking for at least two years' external financial auditing experience in New Zealand, and be completing your CA ANZ (or CPA Australia) qualification. In small audits you'll lead the audit team, while in larger audits you'll be part of the team on a variety of audits across both the for-profit and public benefit sectors.

If you join us, you'll get the variety and challenge of working with different public entities, as well as opportunities to travel. You can count on us to help enhance your talents and skills and foster your professional growth. We invest heavily in your professional development and offer optional leadership development activities.

The work schedule is generally Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The salary range is $68,000 to $80,000.

Apply now! We're looking for people who can start work before the end of September, and we welcome applications from people who wish to work full time or on a fixed-term basis.

As an organisation, people matter to us, our independence is critical, we act with integrity and courage, and we're here to make a difference.

We offer our staff:

  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Flexible working.
  • A unique operating environment with Parliament.
  • Health and well-being benefits.

We have a diverse and inclusive team that helps us to understand the issues facing the public sector and how these affect the lives of New Zealanders. We strongly welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to tell us when you apply so that we can assist you through the recruitment process.

We value originality and effort. Although AI can be helpful, we require you to submit a cover letter and CV that reflects your own voice and experiences.
