Job Description
Bookkeeper CBD 2 days pw - 1 in the office and the rest remote + $40 to $50 per hour + 12 month fixed term contract.
About the Company | Mō te kamupene
This progressive, purpose-led organisation is focused on long-term impact, supporting ventures that are working to make a difference in Aotearoa and beyond. The team is a dynamic mix of sharp minds and passionate doers, all driven by purpose rather than hierarchy. You’ll find a culture that values relationships, empowers decision-making, and fosters genuine collaboration. Office days bring high energy and connection; remote days give you the space to focus without distractions. It's a balance that works.
About the Role | Mō te tūranga
We’re looking for a capable, self-sufficient Bookkeeper to take charge of the day-to-day financials in this fast-paced, values-driven environment. You'll be working part-time—roughly two days per week—with one of those in the office (Tues, Wed or Thurs) and the rest done remotely on your terms.
This role isn’t about clock-watching—it’s about outcomes. As long as the work gets done and done well, you’ve got the freedom to shape your week how it suits you best.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Recording financial transactions and managing posting processes
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Supporting payroll and compliance tasks (e.g., PAYE, KiwiSaver)
- Preparing monthly financial reports
- Assisting with end-of-month and end-of-year processes
- Working closely with the external accountants
- Ensuring accurate, organised documentation in Xero
About You | Mōu ake
You’re an experienced Bookkeeper who thrives on ownership and organisation. You know how to manage competing priorities, keep things tidy, and communicate clearly. With a strong understanding of NZ accounting practices and a good grasp of systems (ideally Xero), you’re confident taking the reins in a standalone role.
You’ll bring:
- Solid bookkeeping experience in a NZ-based role
- Proficiency in Xero (or similar accounting software)
- Strong understanding of NZ tax and accounting requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Confidence dealing with multiple stakeholders
- A steady hand under pressure and a proactive, can-do attitude

- CBD location near public transport
- Real impact – Be part of a company backing meaningful innovation
