Our client is on the lookout for a savvy and experienced Business Development Manager to join a well established 3PL company based in Manukau, Auckland. This isn’t your typical sales role - we’re not after a cold caller or someone chasing quick wins. Instead, we want a true networker, someone who understands that in logistics, strong relationships are everything and business growth is built on trust and time.
This role would suit someone with around 4-5 years experience in the logistics game - someone who knows the ins and outs of freight, warehousing, and supply chain, and who can speak the language of our clients. The sales cycle here is long, complex, and relationship driven, so a good attitude, patience, and genuine care for clients is key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and nurture long term relationships with clients across a wide range of industries
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through strong industry networks
• Work closely with internal ops teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery
• Represent the brand at networking events, trade shows, and client meetings
• Stay across industry trends and provide insights to both clients and the internal team
Key Skills & Experience:
• Solid background in logistics or 3PL - you know the industry and how it ticks
• Around 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a logistics environment
• Proven ability to build rapport and foster long term client relationships
• Confident communicator who listens first and speaks with insight
• Comfortable working with a long sales cycle and staying motivated without quick wins
• A positive attitude and collaborative mindset - you’re someone people want to work with
