Business Support Manager - Hauora Māori Service

About the Role
As the Head of Office Business Support Manager, you will ensure the effective and strategic management of the National Director Hauora Māori Service's office. As the key conduit with corporate functions across the organisation, this key leadership role provides both strategic and operational support – including overseeing the seamless operation of the office, managing quality control, and holding responsibility for the ministerial portfolio. The role also involves supporting decision-making and representing the National Director in the delivery of Hauora Māori services.
About the Team/Service/ Location
As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.
About you
As an experienced manager or project professional, you bring strong advisory capabilities and the ability to lead projects across multiple areas of expertise, particularly in governance. A confident and effective communicator, you are comfortable presenting to diverse audiences and skilled at establishing and maintaining key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will have:
- Extensive experience in business support, office management, or a related field, with at least 8 years in a similar role within a large organisation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft key governance documents and materials
- Knowledge and practical experience in applying Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches
- Proven ability to coordinate and manage complex projects, with experience in the health sector considered an advantage
