About the Role

Are you currently working in the healthcare sector, interested in gaining new skills? Or a recent high school graduate interested in gaining experience in a healthcare setting?

We are seeking a Cardiac Physiology Technician or Technician Trainee to join our team. 

The Cardiac Physiology Department at Waitematā District is a rapidly developing service with an enthusiastic team focused on contributing positively to the future of Cardiology within the district.

As a Cardiac Physiology Technician, you will be involved in procedures such as:

  • ECGs, Holter, ABU and Event monitor fitting
  • Exercise Treadmill Tests (ETT’s) and Spirometry

You will be the responsible for performing the above tests to a very high standard and maintaining good documentation. We are able to provide full training and educational support.

About you

The successful candidate will be expected to enrol to be a member of The Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology (SCT) and study towards the Certificate in Physiological Measurement, in order to become registered with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board (CPRB).

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • NCEA Level Three and/or Bursary in two sciences (Biology, Chemistry or Physics), maths and English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a busy multidisciplinary team
  • Show attention to detail
  • Compassion for people

Please note, this position is not for qualified or graduate Physiologists.
