About the Role

As a CAMHS practitioner you will have a varied, rewarding and challenging task. On any given day you will work directly with clients and their whanau, providing assessment, intervention and liaison with other relevant services. We complete our own risk/crisis work during daytime weekdays, alongside our supportive team and duty/ crisis team so never on your own. Some of the skills you will be expected to have/gain are in CBT, DBT, ACT and group work.

About the Team/Service

Our team of 40 + people (across the region) are always available to our smaller team in Horowhenua. We meet weekly in Palmerston for MDT, training, business meetings and for time to be together and have some fun too. We are a service that provides the best with a team that that works hard clinically and holds their team life in high regard. In short we love being together and sharing our knowledge, experience, humour and selves!

About you

As a CAMHS Practitioner you will…

  • Have CAMHS specific experience, however like for like experiences will be considered and training provided.
  • Have training in therapeutic modalities, minimum CBT, but also ACT and DBT
  • Have a positive attitude to everything you do, be flexible, strong in who you are and a people person
  • Be someone who doesn't tolerate gossip or bullying as fits with our team ethos.
