General X-ray Charge Medical Imaging Technologist
- Southland Hospital, Invercargill
- Salary band $122,570 per annum pro-rata and Kiwisaver
- Permanent, part-time opportunity
- 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week) with an additional 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) available as Medical Imaging Technologist if you wanted to make this a full-time role!

About the role
This role provides clinical leadership and expertise to ensure an efficient and effective General X-ray service by maintaining staff competencies, oversight of bookings and troubleshooting of equipment. While reporting to the Clinical Managers, the X-ray Charge acts as a resource person specific to General X-ray including fluoroscopy and cone beam CT. They co-ordinate and assist training and support of students, trainees and staff in the multidisciplinary team.
The X-ray Charge performs and assists radiological examinations (as requested) and participates in the provision of a 24-hour Radiology service, including shifts (as required).
There is also 0.4 FTE Medical Imaging Technologist available if the successful applicant is looking for a full-time role within Health New Zealand.

About you:
- Must be a New Zealand registered Medical Imaging Technologist with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologist Board
- Must hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Relevant scope of practice as directed by the NZ Medical Radiation Technologist Board and the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (2003) and the ORS C1
- Current registration and participation in an accredited CPD programme
