About us
The Emergency Department at Middlemore Hospital provides acute emergency services to around 120,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year and is one of the busiest in Australasia. Middlemore Hospital is situated in a lower socio-economic area and serves a culturally diverse, high need population with high acuity presentations.
About the role
We are looking for a Charge Nurse Manager for our Kidz First Emergency Department (ED) to join the ED nursing leadership team!

Some of the essential work you will be doing:
- Provide exceptional professional and clinical nursing leadership
- Promote excellence in best practice, and safe, high-quality patient and whaanau centred care, resulting in a great patient experience
- Continue to coach, mentor, and develop the ED Nursing team, supporting, and enabling nurses to work to their top of scope
- Support and enable the ED department to meet key performance indicators

About you
Are you an experienced senior nurse looking for an exciting and rewarding challenge of leading a high performing team? To be successful in this role you will need:
Essential
- New Zealand Nursing Registration
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Minimum 7 years recent and relevant experience
- Acute paediatric experience preferred
- Masters’ qualification or are currently working towards this
- Demonstrated expertise in setting standards and managing excellence in practice
- Ability to provide coaching and mentoring
- Proven leadership and staff management experience
