ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Gisborne Hospital is the base hospital for the wide geographical area, Tairāwhiti, extending up the East Cape of New Zealand. The region has a population of approximately 50,000 and is well known for its relaxed lifestyle and its beautiful rural and beach environments.

We’re looking for a Chief Pharmacist to work alongside the Pharmacy Manager who has the energy to make a positive difference with both patients and staff alike. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
At Gisborne Hospital our pharmacists are responsible for a range of operational and clinical pharmacy services including (but not limited to) in-patient dispensing, chemotherapy clinical review and dispensing, medication reconciliation, provision of medicines information to patients and staff, participation in multidisciplinary meetings and ward rounds, weekend and on-call roster as well as helping in the training and development of trainees and other staff.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist to lead our committed and passionate team.
We are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking and experienced registered Pharmacist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Based at Gisborne Hospital, you will have an opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills within a supportive environment and retain a clinical pharmacy role. Maintaining and improving our clinical pharmacy services will be a major focus and you will be involved in change leadership
You will have an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills working with the Māori culture.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with other members of multidisciplinary team focusing on medication safety to implement the Health Quality & Safety Commission initiative. We will provide you with exciting work opportunities and offer you a platform to gain valuable clinical pharmacy and leadership knowledge. We are also very supportive of any further training or education you wish to
pursue.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in Pharmacy recognised in New Zealand
- New Zealand Registered pharmacist or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience is essential and leadership is desirable
