Te tūnga | The role  

We are seeking an outstanding maritime leader to join Maritime New Zealand as our Chief Technical Advisor - Technical Advisory Services (TAS). In this pivotal role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the Director/Chief Executive, Board, Executive Leadership Team and the organisation, providing expert guidance and insights on strategic and significant maritime issues, as well as leading key strategic technical projects.  

You will provide stewardship of our third parties oversight function ensuring both the provision of advice and support to delegated, recognised and approved parties, alongside a robust oversight role.

You will work as part of a dynamic leadership group and be responsible for driving innovation and culture change, and transforming the way we provide technical expertise and advice.

As the leader of the TAS function, the Chief Technical Advisor will support managers to ensure the highest quality technical advisory service is delivered to the organisation, the delivery of strategic and cross functional projects where sound technical decision making is critical. Your leadership will extend beyond MNZ as you forge and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across the maritime sector.

This role is based in Wellington and we are willing to consider candidates based outside of New Zealand for this role. This role is permanent, full time with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week and has a full salary range of $194,797 - $259,729 (appointment likely to be made between $194,797 - $216,442 depending on skills and experience).
