Job Description

Lead a frontline care team in Tauranga. Fast-paced, purpose-driven role managing rosters, people, and service delivery. Regular BOP travel required.

About the Role:

We’re working with a national organisation in the healthcare sector, delivering essential community-based support to those who need it most. This is a people-centric leadership role based in Tauranga, responsible for managing a large team of field-based staff who deliver care directly to clients in their homes. You’ll be at the heart of operations—balancing rostering, team engagement, problem-solving, and service delivery.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Managing rosters, shift changes, and scheduling complexities across a 7-day operation
  • Providing guidance and performance support to a team of 30–50 field workers
  • Handling low-level ER issues and maintaining team morale
  • Ensuring services are delivered to standard—coordinating with clients, health professionals, and internal teams
  • Travelling locally (and occasionally regionally) to stay connected with staff and clients
About You:

You’re an experienced team leader who thrives under pressure and genuinely cares about people. You know how to keep operations moving—even when things change fast—and your calm, solutions-focused approach makes you someone others can count on.

You’ll bring:
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (health, retail, logistics, etc.)
  • Strong scheduling and rostering capability—especially under pressure
  • People management confidence, including coaching, engagement, and minor ER matters
  • Excellent communication—empathetic, professional, and clear
  • A full driver’s license and comfort with regular travel around the Bay of Plenty
What You’ll Get:
  • A critical role with real purpose—helping people live safer, healthier lives
  • Supportive team culture where no one’s left to figure things out alone
  • Growth pathways—this organisation supports internal development and progression
  • A job where no two days are the same, and where your input truly matters
