- Permanent part-time position working 24 hours per week Monday to Friday

About the role
General Surgery Administration team schedule, manage and transcribe clinics for approximately 27 SMO - s and support staff. Every day in General Surgery is different with administration staff assisting the SMO and Nursing team to manage the workflow of clinics that are held in the Christchurch Outpatient Building.
This is a new entry level position for General Surgery team, and we are looking for someone who can embrace a new way of working. If you can multi-task, be flexible in a constantly changing environment, enjoy working in a high functioning team, and have a passion for assisting patients in healthcare, we would like to hear from you.
We - re looking for an amazing person whose personality is welcoming and friendly. You will need to have an eye for detail, and once you understand the tasks and systems can be self-directed, making this role your own.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 3/Profile 3C.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing great service and direction to customers, staff and whānau
- Professional timely service
- Administrative Clinic management support, including transcription
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Answering department telephone
- Support Front of House staff when required
About you
Your skills will include:
- Excellent customer service skills - people focused
- Technically savvy - quick at picking up new applications/systems
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- A team player
- Confident user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent keyboard skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Open-minded proactive approach in an administrator role.
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
