Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
As a Clinical Advice Manager for one of our Medical Advisor teams, you'll be supporting your highly skilled team to achieve its full potential. Among other specialties, your team is a mix of vocationally registered General Practitioners, Occupational and Environmental Medicine Physicians, and Surgeons who provide expert, consistent, accurate, timely, helpful, and integrated guidance. This guidance enables our frontline teams to make sound, evidence-based decisions for client management. Our guidance ultimately supports injured patients in their recovery.
Alongside managing a team of medical professionals, you will support the broader Clinical Services team by holding a portfolio in an area in which you have or will develop subject matter expertise. You'll utilise your leadership and management skills to actively seek out operational efficiencies - enabling the business to do the right thing.'
You'll be an important part of the Clinical Services Leadership Team, working as one of eleven Clinical Advice Managers across our medical, allied health and psychology teams. You'll be one of four Clinical Advice Managers across our medical teams, providing consistent leadership for this group. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the Clinical Services team and support the Manager Clinical Services in achieving overall goals of the function.
Mōu | About you
Essential:
- Relevant medical qualification supported with significant experience leading medical teams.
- Vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand with a minimum seven years' experience.
- Current annual practising certificate.
- Adaptable and flexible with strong people management and leadership skills.
- A dedicated team player who nurtures a positive and trusting team culture.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills. - An understanding of business management practices, clinical best practice, and medicolegal principals.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- High level of competence in using a wide range of digital platforms, including Microsoft 365.
Desirable:
- Associate Fellow or Fellow Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA) or working towards.
- Demonstrated and proven experience managing clinical teams within operational environments.
- Experience in leading through change.
- Proven successful experience in leading virtual teams.
- An understanding of ACC legislation.

The salary ranges from $215,206 to $265,843 plus a 9% super contribution. The salary is depending on candidates experience and skillset.
