About the role

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Clinical Charge Nurse who will be providing clinical and professional nursing leadership, teamwork promotion, coaching of staff and monitoring standards of practice. Proven experiences as a highly proficient clinician in nursing practice including skills, knowledge and ability to provide direction for and evaluate nursing care are keys to success in this role. Key responsibilities include ensuring chemotherapy scheduling, patient admissions, acute bookings and clinic capacity are coordinated and managed.

About the Team

This role is specifically for Ward 27A which is a busy outpatient and day stay clinic in the Starship Blood and Cancer Centre. The Starship Blood and Cancer Centre is part of Starship Child Health and is the largest tertiary centre in New Zealand caring for children and young people with cancer and blood disorders.

About you

To be successful you will:

  • Have expert clinical practice knowledge
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
  • Have a strong commitment to leading professional development, quality care and whānau centred nursing
  • Have a commitment to bi-culturalism in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Strong accountability for resource and budget management
  • Current NZ Nursing Registration and an annual practicing certificate
