Clinical Nurse Manager – Mental Health

Te Puna Waiora Inpatient Unit

Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support our mental health inpatient team. We are seeking a leader with a can-do attitude responsible for ensuring high quality, safe, and culturally responsive patient care.

We have a commitment to trauma informed care, that is recovery orientated and supported by the multi-disciplinary team.

About the Role

You will be providing clinical leadership and operational management to ensure safe, effective and evidenced based care. No two days are the same in a dynamic inpatient unit and this is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills with a focus on quality improvement/change management to achieve our goal of developing a community of best practice.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team consists of nurses (enrolled and registered nurses), psychiatric assistants, a social worker, occupational therapist and our inpatient psychiatrists and registrars

About you

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will have well developed clinical skills within the mental health setting.

· New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current annual practising certificate (APC)

· Relevant post graduate education (preferably Post Graduate Diploma minimum)

· PDRP is obtained and current at Expert or Senior Nurse level

  • Proven ability to work in a complex and changing environment
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Be an excellent communicator, with a strong focus on team culture and collaborative working
