About the Role
The Cardio Respiratory Integrated Specialist Services
(CRISS) Cardiology/Heart Failure (HF) team has an exciting opportunity for a
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with a special interest in Cardiology Nursing
to join the team.
You will be responsible for:
- Provision of nurse-led, autonomous clinics
- Prescribe and optimise medications and treatment plans under Nurse Practitioner supervision, in collaboration with Cardiologists
- Deliver advanced nursing assessment, specialist cardio/respiratory and long-term condition management advice
- Offer clinical leadership, education, and support throughout the patient - s journey
- Collaborate with other
health professionals across the health sector
As a positive role model in clinical leadership, you will
work with the CRISS Cardiology/HF CNS team, providing advice, support, and
information throughout the patient - s disease trajectory. You will work
collaboratively with appropriate services, to ensure high standards of care are
maintained and improved patient outcomes are provided.
About you
We are looking for a motivated Registered Nurse with the ability to engage people, have excellent clinical assessment, education, communication skills with expert nursing knowledge and extensive clinical experience.
You will be on the post graduate pathway, having completed or be working towards a relevant post graduate qualification. An extensive background in Cardiology is a prerequisite. Experience in long-term condition management is desirable, as is a qualification in Registered Nurse prescribing.
- Comprehensive background in Cardiology
- Advanced nursing assessment skills in providing consultative specialist cardiac and respiratory advice
- Completed or be working towards a relevant post graduate qualification
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Excellent case and time management skills are key to this role
- Strong computer literacy
- Role models and promotes excellence in nursing practice and clinical leadership
- Committed to maintaining high standards of care and improved patient outcomes
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
