We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse with experience in continually improving the standards of care for patients and a commitment to Infection Prevention. Being an existing Clinical Nurse Specialist would be an advantage but not essential. (Level 4 minimum)
You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a range of pts with ownership of your own areas through an established portfolio. In additional you will be experienced in implementing and completing sustainable quality improvement projects. The IP team delivers key projects such as the hand hygiene project, ICNET management, and Surgical Site Infection surveillance and you will be expected to participate in those programmes and others as required. You will be expected to be able to demonstrate a Quality Improvement project or planned education you have been involved with within the last 12 months which has achieved a measurable improvement in patient safety.
Across Waitemata you will work with a wide range of professionals to promote frontline ownership to achieve culture and practice change to deliver continuous improvement in care delivery. Much of your time will be spent delivering improvements in practice, tracking progress and identifying and implementing solutions to barriers and evaluating the long term success of the improvements.
As such the skills we are looking for are:
· People focus: Excellent personal skills such as communication, (both written and verbal), flexibility, attention to detail and ability to manage relationships positively
· Technology focus: Excellent IT skills, management of databases and repository’s
· Quality focus: A demonstrated ability to design and deliver improvement initiatives, using recognised methodologies
