About the Role

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki has established the Patient at Risk Nurse Service, and we are seeking Senior Registered Nurses with a strong focus on patient assessment, and communication in recognising and responding to the deteriorating patient with an emphasis on supporting our most vulnerable patients across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly established Patient at Risk Nursing team, where the service is focused on Taranaki hospital’s most vulnerable patients and to provide support to colleagues in the wider DHB team.

About you

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

·         CORE advanced, paediatric life support trained with 3 years in a critical care environment

·         Excellent communication, problem solving and assessment skills

·         A minimum of 5 years’ acute clinical experience in a NZ hospital setting

·         Must have experience in practice areas with experience in Child and Adult Medical and or Surgical Nursing

·         Experience in management of the undifferentiated patient is ideal

·         Able to work in a MDT and navigate challenging situations

·         Ability to work in a complex changing environment and be able to manage multiple competing priorities

·         Motivation and self-direction

·         Evidence of on-going professional development including Postgraduate qualifications (Critical Care or Emergency)

·         Current PDRP portfolio, Expert Level

·         Current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
