Clinical Nurse Specialist - Resuscitation

Mō te tūranga/ About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist in Resuscitation to lead and enhance our resuscitation training programs across the Lakes District. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting best practices in resuscitation, ensuring our staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality emergency care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote evidence-based resuscitation practices through education and skills acquisition for all Lakes District staff.
- Encourage adherence to NZRC and ILCOR standards to optimize resuscitation procedures.
- Provide ongoing training and support to nurses, midwives, medical staff, and other personnel in accordance with CORE levels of resuscitation.
- Develop and maintain standards of practice, policies, and procedures for resuscitation management in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Identify training needs and develop educational programs to address these requirements.
- Maintain educational records related to resuscitation and patient deterioration recognition.
- Offer advice on evidence-based approaches to clinical practice and participate in auditing equipment and resuscitation events.
- Coordinate Health Professional Resuscitation Instructors (HPRI) within Lakes District.
- Establish and maintain national partnerships to ensure high-quality resuscitation standards.
- Collaborate with NZ Resuscitation Council, Lakes District Resuscitation Committee, and other key stakeholders to deliver clinical education initiatives.
- Participate in the development of Early Warning System (EWS) policies and practices.
- Contribute to case reviews and quality improvement activities relevant to patient deterioration prevention when required.
Mō koe / About you
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with current practicing certificate.
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Nursing or relevant field or working towards one.
- Certification as a Resuscitation Instructor (e.g., NZRC Resuscitation Instructor) or working towards achieving.
- Proven experience in clinical education, preferably in resuscitation and emergency care.
- Strong understanding of NZRC and ILCOR guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Awhe utu / Salary range
$ 116,040 to $127,674 pro-rated to hours worked as per collective agreement.
