About the Role

An exciting fixed-term opportunity has become available for a skilled and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist – Stroke to lead patient-focused care across Bay of Plenty – Hauora a Toi.  This part-time position working 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) is for a period of up to 11 months and offers a meaningful opportunity to shape and support stroke services during a critical time.

This senior role focuses on advanced assessment, nurse-led follow-up, and treatment monitoring for individuals that have had a stroke.  It also includes health education, service coordination, and acting as a clinical resource across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you

This is a role for a clinically confident senior nurse with established expertise in stroke or long-term condition management.  A commitment to advancing nursing practice, delivering culturally safe care, and supporting peers is essential.

What you will bring:

  • NZNC Registration and current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (preferably working toward a master's with prescribing endorsement).
  • Proven experience in neurological or specialist nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership in service development, education, or quality improvement.
  • Expert-level portfolio (PDRP or equivalent).
  • A current, clean driver's licence and confidence working across both hospital sites.
