About the role
We are seeking a fixed term (end Jan 2026), part-time (0.6FTE) highly motivated nurse.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing pre-operative specialist nursing care and coordination of surgical care to paediatric cardiac patients and adult patients with congenital heart disease, their families and whanau across health care settings. Our Clinical Nurse Specialist is part of a dynamic and passionate multi-disciplinary team who are committed to the delivery of effective/evidenced based cardiac care.
About the Team
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will join the multidisciplinary Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service team at Starship Child Health. We are the sole provider of cardiology and cardiac surgical services for infants, children, and young people with congenital and acquired heart disease and adults with congenital cardiac disease in New Zealand and parts of the Pacific Basin.
About you
To be successful you will:
- Be an experienced Paediatric Cardiology nurse and will have registration with NZ Nursing Council.
- Have proficient or expert level Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent
- Preferably have a Master’s degree or a post –graduate diploma
- Have experience in a leadership role with a strong commitment to quality healthcare
- Have excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a bi-cultural environment.
