About the Role
Salary: As per the APEX Te Whatu Ora Clinical Perfusionists Collective Agreement (Pro Rata)
We are looking for a qualified perfusionist to become a permanent member of our team. This role is part-time (0.83 FTE) as we are a 6 member perfusion team with establishment of 5 FTE. The hours are balanced with a 3-week cycle (2 weeks three 10 hour days and 1 week four 10 hour days). On-Call requirements are split evenly amongst the team members.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Cardiothoracic Service provides tertiary level services to the Greater Wellington region including Marlborough, Hawkes Bay, Wanganui, Palmerston North, and the Wairarapa. We perform almost 450 cardiac cases per year. Our case type includes on-pump CABGs, Valves, and Aortic Artery Repair (dissections, aneurysms, arches, and elephant trunks). We have recently added CardioHelp ECMO services to our arsenal with significant help/support from our ICU team.
Our Perfusionists are a close-knit supportive team that can boast stable staffing levels since 2017. Our theatre team (surgeons, anesthetists, perfusionists, nurses, and anaesthetic technicians) work together with an emphasis on open-communication, respect, and team-work. About you
We will be able to accept any level of perfusion experience. Applicants must hold board certification from one of the following: Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP.org), American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP.org), or The College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland (SCPS.org.uk).
