About the role:

The Patient at Risk Team (PAR) is a nurse led team focussed on the management of adult patients at risk of deterioration throughout Middlemore Hospital.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Resource Nurse to provide expert clinical support across our organisation. This role is essential in ensuring early intervention and timely care for patients showing signs of physiological instability.

The Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) – PAR Team will:

  • Provide 24/7 clinical support across the Middlemore Hospital site.
  • Offer expert assessment, intervention, and coordination for physiologically unstable patients.
  • Act as a leader and resource for multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
  • Provide education and mentorship to nursing staff to improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure seamless patient transitions from ICU/HDU and the Emergency Department (ED) for those with high-risk scores.

Working as a member of the PAR team and in collaboration with both medical and nursing teams you will provide early assessment, intervention and referral to ensure prompt and timely care for acutely unwell or deteriorating patients.

Based within the Critical Care Complex the PAR team provide 24/7 support, clinical and professional support in order to improve our hospitals recognition and response to the deteriorating patient. 

This is a role for a senior nurse with vision and direction, excellent teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

Essential:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with current APC
  • 5+ years post registration acute/critical care nursing experience in a large hospital setting in NZ
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Advanced assessment and nursing intervention skills with evidence of good leadership skills.
  • Minimum proficient competence on PDRP in acute care
