Job Description

Manage motor vehicle accounts in a fast-paced collections role. Fixed term, hybrid work after 3 months, competitive salary, supportive team culture.

Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, phone-based environment and enjoys the satisfaction of managing your own ledger? If you bring proven collections experience and a calm, solutions-focused approach to conversations, this could be your next great opportunity.

We’re looking for an experienced Collections Officer to join a hardworking and collaborative team based in Auckland’s CBD. This is a 9-month fixed term contract where you’ll manage end-to-end collections activity, with a focus on motor vehicle dealer accounts.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing a portfolio of 350–400 accounts
  • Handling approximately 35 outbound and 20–30 inbound calls daily
  • Working across all stages of the collections process, including hardships, requisitions, lawyers, and deceased estates
  • Supporting inbound queues and outbound campaign efforts
  • Keeping accurate records and maintaining productivity and quality standards
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve shared goals
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in collections (motor vehicle or high-volume call centre background preferred)
  • Confident and empathetic phone manner with strong negotiation skills
  • A good understanding of the CCCFA, Privacy Act, Fair Trading Act, and relevant legislation
  • Experience managing complex cases and making sound, informed decisions
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A team mindset and willingness to contribute to a supportive and diverse culture
Why you’ll enjoy this role:

The culture is welcoming, inclusive, and professional, with a strong emphasis on teamwork. After the training period and sound understanding, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home two days a week, with Wednesdays as the team anchor day in the office.

We recognise that neurodiversity is critical to a healthy, successful workplace. Our role is to uncover and advocate strengths via a psychologically safe recruitment experience. So, if a typical recruitment process doesn’t bring out your best, let us know. We want you to shine, not shy away.
