Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga - Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) leads New Zealand's housing and urban development work programme. We're looking for a talented and motivated Advisor Commercial to join our team and help make a meaningful difference in the lives of New Zealanders.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
As an Advisor Commercial, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of commercial activities across housing solutions. In this role you will work alongside Senior Commercial Advisors to provide sound financial analysis, commercial insights, and operational support to ensure our approaches are fit-for-purpose, legally sound, and aligned with our Ministry's goals and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis and commercial assessments for housing proposals
- Support commercial negotiations and identify project risks
- Maintain commercial data systems and provide operational support
- Contribute to development of commercial templates and tools
- Support stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
- Lead improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency
The salary range for this role is $77,688 - $90,378 + 3% KiwiSaver contribution.

We're seeking candidates with: - Knowledge of financial analysis and commercial principles
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Clear communication abilities and effective teamwork
- Excellent attention to detail
- Commercial acumen
- Experience in commercial environments (advantage)
- Ability to build stakeholder relationships
- Proactive approach with willingness to learn
- A relevant tertiary qualification
