We're looking for an energetic communications all-rounder to join Oranga Tamariki's Communications team.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

You'll be someone who thrives in a busy communications environment, works well with others, and who has sound judgement with a strong customer focus. You will be willing to get stuck in with real ground level operational comms and admin support process part of a team of senior Advisors. Communications will reflect the aims of Oranga Tamariki. Above all, our Communications work will support delivery of the organisation's outcomes through best practice communications, create champions, strengthen relationships and grow public confidence.

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Ideally, we are looking for someone with two-to-three years government communications experience. Other key requirements of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Proven experience in Communications with a reputation for delivering quality advice and communications products
  • Prior experience at creating digestible content to support complex information
  • Strong communication skills, including writing, and creation of digital content, with an understanding of social media channels
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and to manage complex working relationships within and outside of government in a discrete and confidential manner
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $106,416 and $117,782 dependant on experience.
