Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Communications Consultant to play a crucial role in setting up a new customer communications team for an organisation based in Auckland.

This is an hourly rate contract for 3 months, perfect for someone who thrives on building best-practice processes and wants to leave a lasting impact.

As the organisation embarks on an exciting transformation of its communication strategy and delivery, you’ll be responsible for reviewing current processes, critically assessing messaging guidelines, and creating a comprehensive training programme and toolkit for the incoming team.

You’ll design and develop SOPs, guidelines, and training materials to ensure the new team hits the ground running and is equipped to deliver clear, consistent, and customer-focused communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and refine messaging guidelines to ensure clarity, consistency, and effectiveness
  • Develop SOPs, training packs, and documentation for the new customer communications team
  • Build a structured training programme to onboard and support new team members
  • Provide guidance and coaching to new starters as they transition into their roles
  • Ensure all processes and frameworks are designed with the customer experience at the centre
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and internal stakeholders to align with project goals
About You:
  • Deep understanding of customer communications teams and how they operate
  • Proven experience creating effective communications guidelines and training materials
  • Strong critical thinking and process improvement skills
  • Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently to design and deliver practical, user-friendly resources
